"Yes, the potential dangers of sunscreen is a new topic that the EWG has been researching since about 2004. It’s a tricky subject, because the EWG is not advocating not using sunscreen – the idea is that consumers choose their sunscreen more carefully, and be hyper-aware of the ingredients as some can degrade in the sun, cause free radical damage, and other potential health concerns.
Badger is mentioned because we make one of the safest and well-respected sunscreens on the market, using Zinc Oxide (which has been used for centuries in not only sunscreens but diaper rash ointments and other topical applications) in a base of USDA Certified Organic oils, butters, and waxes. We made it because us Badgers were sun-shy – not wanting to slather ourselves with chemicals when we lead healthy, organic lifestyles otherwise. Now we’re getting recognition! It’s cool!
